With the advent of the new movement led by
Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and other social reformers who strove for bringing
about a social revolution based on the principles of liberty, equality
of opportunities, social justice and welfare of the downtrodden through
the process of education, a new sense of awareness stirred the socio-political
life of Maharashtra. A spirit of renaissance was experienced in cities
like Pune. However, the overwhelming majority of people living in
the villages and remote parts of Maharashtra remained away from this
spirit.
Being aware of this glaring contrast, the founder
chairman Shri Sahebraoji Buttepatil (Ex-MLA), Shri. Sahebraoji Satkar
(Ex..MLA), Adv. Ram Kandage (Ex-MLA) and their colleagues founded
Khed Taluka Shikshan Prasarak Mandal in 1974 to promote education
in Khed Taluka.
The institution aims at initiating the
process of enlightenment through education in the most undeveloped
villages of Khed Taluka. It enables the students to avail themselves
of the facilities of higher education. Under the able guidance of
Adv. Devendra Butte Patil (Chairman, K.T.S.P.Mandal), Shri. Haribhausheth
Sandbhor (Vice-Chairman, K.T.S.P.Mandal) and Shri. Ram Kandage (Screatory,
K.T.S.P.Mandal) the institution has been keeping pace with the changing
times.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF KHED TALUKA SHIKSHAN PRASARAK MANDAL.

To provide the students from the rural, tribal and hilly regions of Pune district with the best possible opportunities of pre-primary, primary, secondary, higher secondary, technical, vocational, and higher education.

To promote the growth of primary education in Pune district and to strive for the improvement of its quality.

To promote sports activities and to make the institution center of the educational movement keeping in view the importance of social commitment.

To run a center of Maharashtra open University for those who are deprived of educational opportunities and to run a center of “Bahhishl Mandal” (Extra Mural) of Pune University.
MISSION STATEMENT
“ Our mission is to lead the socially and economically backward inhabitants of the hilly and tribal villages of Khed taluka from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge, wisdom, sagacity and human values. Education is not perceived as an end in itself, but a means and a device to achieve these objectives in the journey towards developing the best qualities of the head and heart. Our aim is to provide the students with the best possible facilities to develop their communicative competence, vocational skills and confidence to face the rapid changes and challenges of the time. “
